Our friend Brandon created a few options for the floor plan. We decided on this option and set out to make it so. In the end, the original 2D drawing held up remarkably well once built. We only made a few tweaks during construction as opportunities presented themselves. 
It's hard to tell the true size of something until you've completely stripped it bare. But by then it's too late to go back!
